Premium fluorocarbon leader material made from "top grade" Japanese carbon resin blends, the best in the world, provides the most durable fluorocarbon leader material in it's line class. These resins provide the required stiffness to allow for "whip" and "roll" required for proper bait presentation at slow trolling/casting speeds.
100% fluorocarbon leader material from Blood Run Fishing is nearly 100% invisible under water, and is impervious to harmful Ultra Violet (UV) rays.
Blood Run fluorocarbon has enhanced abrasion resistant properties for trolling applications which leaders come in frequent contact with stainless wire, cables and nets.
Available in 25YD and 100YD spools.

The supporting cast to your fishing story
what they say about our fluorocarbon leader
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need to use fluorocarbon as a leader material?
It depends on how serious you are about your fishing. Does mono work? Sure. Does it have the abrasion resistance and clarity of fluorocarbon? No. So it depends on you, and how often you want to retie and check for damage, or how spooky you think fish might be. Fluorocarbon can handle much more abuse, and it is almost the same refractive index as water.
Is your STS fluorocarbon leader different than your XL fluorocarbon leader?
Yes, Fluorocarbon XL is considered a "hard" vs the STS which is a "soft". It is different in the resins that are used during extrusion. A "hard" like XL does actually feel "hard" in terms of it's feel and stiffness. It is designed for maximum durability when used near wire lines and other obstructions that it may come into contact with.
Can fish actually see line or line color under water, and is using fluorocarbon as a leader material important?
It depends. As for color, it's probably shades. As for clear leader like comparing mono vs fluorocarbon, no doubt fluorocarbon wins the "clear" test between the two. Most saltwater and many freshwater fisheries experience super clear water conditions at times, so why not just use the "clearest" line you can at all times regardless of the water clarity?
Is fluorocarbon really more abrasion resistant than mono and why is that important?
Generally speaking, yes. Some mono's (actually copolymers like our Tournament Mono) coat the nylon core with fluorocarbon to add abrasion resistance. But pure fluoro, particularly of the "hard" variety is definitely more abrasion resistant than mono. When you fish around alot of wire lines, or pilings and obstructions, you definitely would be wise to use the most abrasion resistant line you can get. Fluorocarbon (poly vinyl fluoride) is an extremely durable and long lasting product, and in fact we sell quite a bit for medical purposes where it's inserted into the human body and designed to stay there for eternity. It is impervious to UV degradation and will not absorb water, thus keeping its strength in tact over time.
